Promoting healthcare equity through the Medicaid program

In this session during the Partners for Advancing Health Equity 2022 Summit, panelists discussed the role of Medicaid through a lens of health equity. Ms. McIver presented on recent achievements under the Biden Administration at the Office of Minority Health at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service in relation to health equity. Ms. Avegno, coming from a local health department background, highlighted her department's work in addressing fundamental social needs with Medicaid. Lastly, Ms. Dumas, hailing from the Louisiana Department of Health, spoke to acknowledging the importance of how Medicaid touches the subject of health equity.
