Abstract / Description

This article outlines the ongoing challenges and efforts in addressing HIV among young people, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. It highlights the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and its partnership with Triggerise’s “In Their Hands” program in Mombasa, Kenya. The article demonstrates how the Tiko app is effectively connecting adolescents to sexual and reproductive health services by leveraging technology, real-time data, community mobilizers, and an incentive system. It emphasizes the program's impact on empowering young people to make informed health choices, improving sexual and mental health outcomes, and supporting the local economy.
